Retrofitting legacy meters with infrared meter readers for an energy management platform

In an energy-platform construction project in Guangyuan, Sichuan, many legacy energy meters had no remote communication capability. Infrared meter-reading terminals periodically read the meters via their optical ports and upload data over 4G to the energy management platform, enabling automatic collection without replacing the existing meters.
